Do you need help
with a Phobia?

Is it causing you distress and affecting your quality of life? I can help you to overcome it…

Phobias

A phobia is a form of anxiety disorder and is defined as ‘an irrational fear of something that is unlikely to cause harm’ such as a fear of a situation, a particular object or animal.

There are many different types of Phobia ranging from common ones such as a fear of Spiders, dogs or confined spaces for example to more rare phobias such as a fear of beards or clouds but can be split into 5 general categories:

  • fears related to specific situations (flying, being in a lift, driving) ….

  • fears related to the natural environment (heights, the dark, thunder) …

  • fears related to animals (dogs, spiders, birds) …

  • fears related to blood, injury or medical procedures (needles, broken bones, accidents) …

  • fears related to other things (choking, loud noises, drowning) …

If you are living with a phobia you may well go out of your way to avoid places, situations or events where you think you may encounter the object of your phobia. As such, the phobia will be controlling how you live your life and the choices you feel free to make.

How can Hypno-Psychotherapy help me to overcome my Phobia?

Through various visualisation techniques, systematic desensitisation or exposure therapy, Hypno-psychotherapy can help in overcoming phobias. We are able to transform the link between the object of the phobia and the fear response that isn’t warranted but has been linked to.

All of this occurs much quicker due to bypassing the conscious mind and the defences that are held there through utilising the Trance state under hypnosis.
